QA & Amazon Career Choice AWS Cloud Support Specialist Pathway
Welcome to QA’s Career Choice Program available to Amazon Associates. This is designed to provide skills and support in finding a career in Computer Support and Web/Software Developer Job roles.
Our program contains 2 parts* (worth £2,000 each). Amazon Career Choice provides you with up to £2000 of funds per annum so you will have enough to pay for one part per year.
- Part 1 – IT and Cloud Fundamentals
- Part 2 – Associate Cloud Certification Pathway
*If you have already got the skills or experience you can jump straight into part 2, however, If you do not do part 1 and don't have sufficient knowledge or experience, you will likely fail part 2.
Part 1 is designed for those who have little or no experience working in IT and develops the fundamentals needed before taking on the Associate level course and certification in part 2. Part 1 does this through the following:
CompTIA IT Fundamentals
(5 days of live workshop done in 1 week)
This course is designed to help you acquire the knowledge and skills to set up and use a computer at home securely and keep it in good working order, provide informal support for PCs and simple computer networks to your colleagues in a small business, and prepare to study for the CompTIA A+ certification in PC support skills or other advanced IT education programs.
AWS Cloud Practitioner Essentials
(1 day live workshop)
This fundamental-level, one-day, instructor-led classroom course is intended for individuals who seek an overall understanding of the AWS Cloud, independent of specific technical roles. It provides a detailed overview of cloud concepts, AWS services, security, architecture, pricing, and support to enable you to build your cloud skills and grow your professional credibility.
Once you have completed part 1, you will choose a path for part 2 in either of the courses to the side
Developing on AWS
3 day live workshop (from 09:00 – 17:00)
The AWS Developer associate route will provide you with digital training covering the programming language Python followed by Developing on AWS which will help you learn how to use AWS services and developer tools.
Cloud Operations on AWS
3 day live workshop (from 09:00 – 17:00)
The AWS Cloud Operations Administrator route will provide you with Digital training on topics like networking & security and the Official Certified Course Cloud Operations on AWS, which will teach you how to install, configure, automate, monitor, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot the services, networks, and systems on AWS necessary to support business applications.
IT Apprenticeship career opportunity
Once you have completed part 2, you will work with QA’s Apprenticeship Recruiters to try to secure employment via one of QA’s Apprenticeship Programs. QA currently places around 5,000 people a year into employment.
